The Prospect Tower Belmont Park, Belmont Kent
Images showing the tiny circular tower standing on the boundary of a cricket pitch and built on a whim for the Estate Owner, Lord Harris of Seringapatam.
This property is set well away from the road on an acclaimed Estate, open to the public from time to time and most pleasurable location in which to stay. I hope you enjoy these images.
All the walls are rounded and from the upstairs room which is the lounge, we had a grandstand view of the cricket pitch.
No cricket took place whilst we were there just a few pheasants strutting around, deworming the well managed cricket square.
We watched as they moved slowly from Gully to Backward Short Leg and strutted up to Silly Mid-Off.

The welcome tray on arrival
I am not particularly podgy and in fact I have lost some weight recently but entering this kitchen is a 1 person affair and if i stood at the sink with the curved front, i could nestle sweetly and look out of the port-hole window.
Oh dear, Ive done it again.
The carpenter has put in a round front to the sink unit in a style to match the curvature of the wall. I was not referring to the curved front of my stomach.
On the left we have a cupboard with brooms and cleaning tools
then under the worksurface with the hot pot place there were cutlery slots and pots and pans in the lower cupboard.
Next there was an electric cooker beyond which was a carpentry made draining board and sink under-which we found cleaning materials.
Then Pyrex selections and mixing bowls and a range of kitchen items such as a potato peeler, orange squeezer, mixer and whisks.
Then there was a freezer section within the fridge.
On the shelves above we found all the crockery in the style found in most Landmarks and shown in the image above.
Finally the big cupboard on the right houses the plumbing and heating things
Avenue of Wanut Trees leading to the Tower.
The Avenue of Wanut Trees leads to our "Leisure Spot".
Looking at the picture of the outdoor furniture you would think it is an ideal place to enjoy lunch or a cup of tea and cake.
Yes it is but it all must be carried down these steep spiral stairs from the kitchen on the first floor.
