Our Favourite Places

Jane and I enjoyed visiting many locations on our bikes and on walking trips.

They hold great memories and during the lockdown I have visited many of our favourite spots, often several times.  In some wild places I can sprinkle her ashes and at all locations  I place a small posy of  flowers.

Join me on my journey. I find it such a rewarding thing to do.

My first destination was our Wellington Monument which stands high above our town. This was a regular walk for us from our front door. The round circuit was between 5 and 6 miles depending upon our route.

This was our much loved seat with a grand view of the monument across a wild flower meadow.

Next I went to the tiny church at Culbone on the North Somerset Coast.  There is no road access and visiting is by footpath from Porlock Weir. I have a page devoted to the walk with further pictures. Click here.

Devon violets so loved by Jane.

The next place I sought out was to lay a remembrance in The Malvern Hills, a scene of many of Jane's long distance cycling evets and also a New Years Day walk for 3 years with local neighbours. One car at one end of the Hill range and another at the furthest point. Christmas cake on The Worcetershire Beacon

The Island of Arran holds a special place in my heart because I spent many happy holidays on the Island and must have visited about 50 times, first with my family and latterly with my wife Jane,   where we climbed each and every mountain.

My father had a memorial seat by High Corrie and Jane and I named our home "Glen Sannox" and our springer spaniel Corrie.

Jane's ashes are spread on the Island and mine will be there too in due course.
