Brent Knoll & Brean Down

Brent Knoll The Mendip Standalone

Sheila and I walked up  Brent Knoll south of Weston Super Mare, close to the Bristol Channel. Brent Knoll was known by the Romans as The Mount of Frogs and stands as an outcrop on the Mendip Hills. It is 449 feet tall and commands far reaching 360 degree views.

In January 2022 it was a muddy climb but our exertions were rewarded by fine 360 degree views. We used the opportunity to place a miniature heather wreath at the summit in memory of a dear friend lost to us both in recent days. We then spent quiet time in the garden of remembrance at the church at the base of the Knoll.
